Frequently asked
If your question isn't here, ask us — we add the good ones to this page.
Ordering & payment
Not yet. Hipze is online as a catalogue while we finish setting the shop up, so checkout is switched off and no payment can be taken. Everything you see — the pieces, the prices, the sizes — is real, and the shop opens properly once we are ready.
By card, through a payment provider's own secure window. Card details will go to them and never reach us — we will never see or store a card number. We will say exactly which provider on this page before the first order is taken.
Yes — email us about the piece you want and we will let you know. It also helps us decide what to stock first.
USD. If you pay in another currency once the shop opens, your bank or card network converts at their rate.
Sizing & fit
Each product page lists the sizes that maker offers, and the size guide has the approximate measurements those codes map to. Because our pieces come from several different workshops, sizing is not identical across the shop — measure a garment you already own and like, then compare. That beats guessing from a label every time.
For anything woven and structured, size up. For jersey tees, knits and anything with stretch, take the smaller one. If you are unsure on a specific piece, email us before you order — we would rather answer than process a return.
Most apparel runs SM to XXL, and some styles come as combined sizes like SM-MD. A lot of the shop — bags, jewellery, patches, stickers, headbands — is one size. The sizes shown on a product page are the ones actually available for it.
The clothes themselves
We don't manufacture. We choose pieces from small independent makers and carry them here — a lot of the shop is printed, dyed or assembled in the USA, and the product description says so where that is the case. The maker's own materials and care notes are what you see on each page.
Anything dyed or printed by hand varies — dye lots shift and print placement moves a little between pieces. On hand-dyed items that variation is the point and is not a fault. On everything else, if what arrived does not match what you saw, tell us and we will put it right.
Follow the care note on the product page — most cotton here is fine cold-washed and hung to dry. Hand-dyed pieces can release a little excess dye on the first two or three washes, so wash those alone in cold water to start with.
Sometimes, but we can't promise it: when a maker's run is finished we can only list it again if they make more. Ask us about a specific piece and we will tell you honestly whether it is coming back.
