How it’s made

How a piece gets here

  1. We find the makers

    Small independent workshops, most of them printing and sewing in the USA. We buy from people whose names we know rather than from a catalogue of anonymous stock.

  2. We order small

    A handful of each piece at a time. It means things sell out and we are fine with that — it is better than a warehouse of what nobody wanted.

  3. Hand-finished, so it varies

    Tie-dye, patchwork and hand-printing are done one piece at a time. Dye lots shift and print placement moves. That is the look, not a flaw.
